Start you engines !
Playing as Junkrat
When you lay down your concussion mine, it doesn't hide like your trap does. Stick your mine on a nearby wall instead of on top of your trap in order to better hide your trap.
Stay higher than your enemies. If you have the high ground you'll have an easier time hitting them
Use your trap and mine as a combo. Find a chokepoint, or a entrance to a building that you deem likely that the enemy team will try to flank you from. Lay down the trap and then the mine on top. As soon as you see the TRIGGERED flashing, pop the mine. If they are anyone but a tank, it will kill them from full health.
You can use his mine's bump to escape from an unforseen enemi attack.
If you put down a mine, then wait for another mine to come up, you can do a double jump. Use the first mine as you normally would, then while in the air, use your next one and as soon as you can explode it. You will get another small boost that can get you to some very good places that you normally couldn't without help.
When trying to kill someone near you with your primary weapon, fire at their feet. Much easier to hit them.
RIP-tires can climb up walls and vertical surfaces if you hold space when coming in contact with the wall, which will allow you to find plenty of ways to keep your tire safe and surprise your opponents.
A good combo for junkrat if you run into an enemy face to face after turnung a corner or something, your best combo is shoot-punch-mine, which will kill any 200 health hero, and leave anyone else at medium to low health, depending on the hero.
Your mine bump and damage opponent. Try to propulse them into the voïd or finish them with it.
If you use your mine to jump on buildings or obstacles, jump before using your mine. You'll jump 2xtimes higher than without jumping !
Lay down a mine before you launch your RIP-Tire. That way if someone is attacking you once your ult is done you can immediately detonate it and jump away.
When next to a friendly ulting Reaper, try to use your concussion mine to knock enemies into his reach, Death blossom has quite a high vertical range.
On maps with basketballs in the base you can put a trap on the basketball and a mine. Punch it out of spawn and try to punch it near the objective. If you are lucky you can get a kill. This isn't actually useful. More of a fun thing you can do. Most of the time it wont work.
Your mine is a great tool for escape and for making yourself harder to hit at times, if yoy toss a mine and jump away from an ultimate it can save you or if you're facing a tough enemy that has to take the travel time of projectiles into account to hit you, then you should jump away.
Make sure tou take advantage of junkrats concussion mine as a flanking opportunity to get behind the enemy team to suprise them with your ult.
Bump your grenades off of walls so that you aren't directly in the enemy's line of sight.
Junkrat is quite vulnerable to being flanked, so use your steel trap to watch your back. Even if enemies notice and destroy it, you get a notification of them doing so, meaning you know where they are and can prepare for their attack before it happens. Be wary, because good players can sometimes bypass your trap without destroying it and get the jump on you.
Your primary fire can bounce on walls and over platform, use it at your advantage to fire the enemi from a safe place.
Before casting your Ultimate, put a steel trap in front of you. You may end up catching someone who thinks they have an easy kill on you, and make them vulnerable to either the team or you if you finish casting your ult in time.
If you can land most of your grenades, and utilize your traps and mines, you can deal with almost any enemy, including tanks (provided they don't out damage you and you hit most of your shots).
If you are attacking on any Attack/Defense map that has a defense spawn with a high exit point or sniper perch, try and get up there, and lay a trap. Most enemies exiting out the top won't be thinking the possibility of your trap unless they see you place it.
Try to always have a trap on the ground, even if it's not in the most optimal spot. Traps do a considerable amount of damage and leaves enemies vulnerable to attack from your team. If you leave your traps around flanks where there are no team members, try and spare your mine to use with it. If you trap an enemy and use the mine and the enemy trapped doesn't die, consider the possibility of a higher health enemy trying to flank.
Be careful when playing against Zarya as Junkrat. Avoid firing when her shields are up and make her your No.1 priority when she is unshielded. A good Zarya will try to soak up your projectile damage which will charge her particle cannon very quickly.
You can toss the mine above Reindhart's shield and blow it up to toss Reindhart away from his team, leaving his team vulnerable.
Junkrat is a great counter to Mei, during her ultimate throw your concussion mine at your feet to clear the radius of her blizzard. If she chases you trying to freeze you put a concussion mine at your feet, this will create huge distance between you. You can also put your trap down to stay out of her range.
Go Junkrat spamming on a spawn door at the beggining of a game. You are most likely to hit, and kill at least one person.
When you don't immediately need your mine or the enemy will take a bit to get to you, toss your mine somewhere where the enemy might walk over because the cooldown for the mine will still countdown while it is out, then use it as needed.
Use your mine to get out of sticky situations, like if you are surprised by an enemy, toss a mine between you two and it will put some distance between you two, but be careful because it also might toss you two in the air making you an easy target for people with hitscan or easy to hit projectile weapons as you two fall down together.
Junkrat's mine is great at disrupting team formations by tossing people around. They can also be used to toss enemies into pits by either laying a trap mine where they are in perfect position to be thrown off the cliff, or toss a mine to the side of charging enemies and watch them fall off. Alternatively, if a Joadhog pulls you over a cliff or a Lucio, Pharah, or another Junkrat pushes you off the cliff, toss your mine straight down and immediately explode it to bounce up and surprise the enemy who thought they killed you.
Never stop bullet with your head
Playing with Junkrat
Follow his tire, you can finish the player it hasn't kill.
Be sure to check where the junkrat put his trap, using it at your advantage will surprise your opponent for a garanteed kill !
Playing against Junkrat
If you kill a Junkrat close to you, get out of the way before his death-bombs activate.
Junkrat's ultimate (Rip-Tire) is one of the most devastating abilities to use against opponents that are stacking ontop of an objective. However, it's possible for opponents to "shoot" his tire before it successfully arrives. Try to counter it before it's too late for you and your team!
Always check chokepoints or entrances to buildings. You make see some tiny teeth like objects protruding from the ground. This is a junkrat trap, and if hes competent, there should be a mine nearby too. Be wary of these.
After you kill a Junkrat, you need to immediately run away from his corpse! He drops grenades that can end up killing you or other teammates that are nearby.
Don't forget that his bullet from his primary fire stay on the ground before exploding. Don't think you're safe because he didn't hit you directly.
If you're playing a flanker like Tracer, Genji, or Reaper, try to get past Junkrat's steel trap without destroying it. Junkrat gets a notification when his trap is destroyed and will know where you are if you destroy it. Some ways of getting past it without destroying it are Blink, Wraith Form, and Double Jumping over it.
While Junkrat can do lots of damage, if you stay out of range of his balls, or be far enough away that he has to arc his balls up more, you can more easily avoid him with characters at range, but be careful of his mine as it travels a bit differently and faster than his balls and it will knock you around
