Spam your chargeable orbs of death in high traffic areas, objectives and turrets. Your hit count might not be high but they can keep the enemy on their toes and you can get some random kills. It also passes through Reinhardt's shield, so that remember that.

Turrets are great for defending. Spread them around the place in blind points (think like the enemy). You'll get more than a kill and the enemy will have a bad time removing them.

Symmetra can resist the very first invasions of a point on her own pretty well. Just place the turrets in the inner wall, over the main doors (usually 2 doors with 3 turrets over them, or 3 door-2 turrets each) and keep hidden in a corner, out of sight. When the enemy sneaks in, shoot your weapon and keep your aim in the weakest one while you jump around. Your turrets will do the rest. Of course, that won't work the whole match. You'll have to change the pattern.

When Symmetra places her teleporter, DON'T fight near to it, this will draw the enemy team's attention to the teleporter and it will be destroyed prematurely. Symmetra's utility is reduced greatly when her teleporter is down, so avoid drawing attention to its location, defend it when it's spotted.

If you notice the opposing team has a Symmetra, be careful of entering buildings in obscure locations. I've noticed many Symmetra players like to setup all of their turrets in rooms that are alternate pathes and routes to objectives, or around important map advantages like Health packs. If you step into a room, you'll be dead before you even realized what happened!

Symmetra is capable of placing teleporters for her team to transfer through, keep an eye and an ear out in areas where you see large amounts of enemies randomly appearing from. A well placed teleporter can be the difference between victory and defeat!
